If you have the freedom to live and work from anywhere in the world, moving to Europe might be on your mind. It’s a move many Americans are making right now to take advantage of the value of the U.S. dollar, which is the strongest it’s been in a generation and has nearly a one-to-one conversion rate with the euro.

Another reason many Americans are relocating to countries across Europe is the rising cost of living and high housing prices in the U.S., Bloomberg reports. Your money can go much further when it comes to buying an apartment or house in Europe, especially if you move to smaller cities or towns, the article says.

Where in Europe should you look? Some popular countries for American expats right now are France, Italy, Portugal, Spain, and Greece. But of course, you have many options across Europe, and should consider whether a major city, small town, rural area, and beach destination will fit your lifestyle.

To help with your European house hunt, here are five places for sale in Italy, Sweden, Germany, Spain, and France. (Note: All currencies were converted to dollars and reflect conversion rates as of August 4th.)
